Excursions around Lake Garda
When you spend your holiday at Ca’ Verde Oliva, you absolutely have to plan in a visit to some of the main points of interest around the lake. Just a short walk from our villa, you’ll find the German military cemetery in Costermano, the final resting place of 21,951 German soldiers who fell during the Second World War. At the feet of the Rocca di Garda lies Garda, the most picturesque town on the lake. Elegant and refined, it’s home to a large number of villas and palaces, such as Villa Alberini, Villa Canossa, the Captain’s Palace, and the hermitage of San Giorgio on La Rocca. Another popular destination is Bardolino, a town nestled between two sandy promontories and surrounded by vineyards that produce the wine of the same name. Meanwhile, Malcesine has a unique look thanks to its rocky spur emerging from the water, where you’ll find a castle standing watch over the Medieval town centre with its charming lanes and squares.
